What is the CDAH in the Regions project?

CDAH in the Regions is an extension of the services of CDAH designed to reach English-speaking artists and arts, culture, and heritage organizations located in the different regions of Quebec.

The project offers partnerships with arts, culture and heritage organizations located in these regions to offer training, capacity-building workshops, paid internship opportunities, and mentorship circles related to digital media. CDAH in the Regions will also support the production of digital media projects with the overall goal of increasing local content in regional communities.

Together, these activities will give English-speaking artists and arts, culture and heritage organizations in Quebec access to tailored resources that will increase their capacity to produce high-quality content for creation, promotion, artistic expression, and digital archiving.

Our Services

  • A step beyond and also complimentary to mentorships, workshops can be used to do a deeper dive into subjects introduced by the partner organization. These workshops can be for the community at large or for a more targeted group based on the particular needs of your organization.

Workshops are meant to respond to needs that have been outlined by the communities or organizations. The Hub will coordinate facilitators to meet the requests of the partner organization.

    Examples of workshops include:

    • How to develop engaging content

    • How to use tags and analytics

    • Brand identity

    • Intro to video editing and lighting

    • Audio recording

    • Podcast making

    • Reporting/interviewing

    • Tik-Tok and online content creation

    • Live streaming

  • The Hub will identify and engage regional artists from a relevant artistic discipline (studio arts, media arts, theatre, writing, music, dance, etc) who will host digital meet-ups, where artists in the regions can come together as a group to ask questions and seek strategies to support their work.

Building greater capacity to create digital content is part of the goal of this project, and one of the ways we can do this is with mentorships.

    • Conversational

    • Theme-oriented or peer support groups

    • Regional facilitators will be paired with organizations

    • Mentorships to the heritage communities

    • Guest speakers and other partner organizations may collaborate with us whenever possible

    • Meetings can be both remote and in-person

  • 12 projects will have the opportunity to have local interns to support project development and delivery, allowing them to acquire the skills they will be able to carry forward toward future local projects. Our budget is for 12 projects at $1000 - $12,000 total.

These internships will train Emerging creators and culture workers and will allow them to acquire skills and contribute to the local arts and culture scene, even beyond the duration of this project.

Organizations will oversee intern placements and create an agreement with CDAH for the intern’s responsibilities and hours.

  • The project will encourage the production of digital projects by offering hands-on technical support, which will increase local content in the regions.

We can offer equipment rentals, podcast recording assistance, assistance with promotional content, post production services, one-on-one technical services and much more.
